Zen Teh (b. 1988, Singapore) is an artist and educator interested in man’s relationship with the natural world. Her art practice is shaped by her proficiency in photography and painting, alongside her continual interdisciplinary investigation into urbanisation and the impact of human interaction with the natural landscape.
Teh’s works have been showcased in numerous group and solo exhibitions in Singapore, including the National Museum of Singapore, Singapore Art Museum and Art Science Museum. She has also exhibited regionally in Thailand, Indonesia, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and China and was invited as a guest speaker at regional environmental conferences such as ASEAN Powershift 2015 and Hanoi Innovation Week 2016 on Sustainability. Her solo exhibitions include “Mountain Pass: Negotiating Ambivalence” at Mizuma Gallery, Singapore (2019) and at Selasar Sunaryo Art Space, Bandung, Indonesia (2019); “Garden State Palimpsest” at ARTIST+RUN, Bangkok, Thailand (2018); and “Vestiges: Tracing Urban-nature” at Alliance Française de Singapour, Singapore (2017).
Teh was the finalist for the IMPART Awards 2019 and Julius Baer Next Generation Art Prize 2021. She has also been awarded the winning title for the 7th France+Singapore Photographic Arts Award. In 2021 she received the National Arts Council Young Artist Award, and has recently been selected for the NAC-Kunstlerhaus Bethanien artist residency for 2023/2024.
Her works are currently in collection of Singapore Art Museum and private collections across the region. Zen Teh lives and works in Singapore.
