Anuwat Apimukmongkon
Anuwat Apimukmongkon started as a curator when he was an undergraduate student, from curating the works of his friends and later began curating works for artists from the deep south of Thailand and beyond. Anuwat’s curation focuses on presenting the work of young and local artists to present contemporary art that has unique and local content in another space to create a dialogue and context for perceiving the aesthetics of the work in a new and different way.
Now Apimukmongkon is working as a curator at Patani Arts Space and a lecturer at Visual Arts Department, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, at Prince of Songkla University, Pattani Campus. He is also a co-founder of Pootorn Connect, the Decentralized Art Cooperation network, to support the distribution of artistic opportunities to artists in other regions in Thailand.
