The Airavata elephant, known as the king of elephants in Hindu literature, is traditionally depicted as a majestic white elephant with multiple heads, trunks, and tusks. In this work, the artist subverts this iconic image, portraying Airavata instead as a fossil—a poignant memorial to a distant past. Once a prominent symbol, it was even featured on the national flags of Thailand and Laos.
